Kim Poole's Graduation Day  - Dec 2008

We are currently in Oakland, California - and it STILL cold!  I know there's global warming - but I haven't seen much of that lately.  There was a major storm in the Bay Area a few days ago - including hail - and there's some sort of crunchy white stuff on the lawn this morning.  

We flew back to California for the holidays and annual Dr. appointments.  We got in a little earlier this year so that we could go to our friend Kim Poole's college graduation.  She just earned her Bachelor's degree after many, many years of hard work and study.  She went to school while working part time, raising two kids and two step-kids,  plus being a member for many years of the local school board.  She is truly my definition of Super-Woman!   We are so proud of her and were really happy that we could make it to share in this wonderful day.

We'll be back to the boat in January and then I'll be getting ready for my annual quilting conference in Hilton Head.  This is the last year that Jinny Beyer is having the conference - so that's a bit sad - but it will be wonderful to see her and all of my quilting friends again.
