Annie's Song
Our friends, Jim and Barbara Shates are traveling on Tardis's twin sister - Annies's Song - up in the Pacific Northwest. Annie is also an American Tug 34 - hull number 47 (we are hull number 48). We met them in the San Franciso Bay area, where we both kept our boats last year. We trucked ours to the east coast for our trip, and they trucked Annie up to Washington state in order to travel more extensively in that part of the world.
Jim and Barbara have taken some stunning pictures during their trip, which they have graciously allowed me to share on our web site.
This is a picture of Jim and Barbara taken in La Conner, this past spring. The tulips are in full bloom behind them.

Barbara and I also share our love of quilting. We have both managed to continue creating new quilts while traveling. This is a quilt that she made for Kurt Dilworth's new baby. Kurt is the head engineer at Tomco, where our boats were built.

These are pictures of two of the many bald eagles up in the Pacific Northwest. Magnificent birds.

Starfish at Maple Bay. Looks like they come in all colors.

This is a picture of the approach to Princess Louisa Sound. Magnificent!!

More pictures from Princess Louisa Sound. The second picture is of Chatterbox Falls in Princess Louisa Sound.

Annies' Song docked near Chatterbox Falls. Jim with their dog Ruby out for a walk through the forest.

Barbara kayaking in Pendrell Sound.

Eagle in Pendrell Sound

Jim catching prawns in Pendrell Sound.

Jack visiting and hanging out on Ruby's quilt.

Annie's Song anchored in Hanfield Bay.

A bald eagle swooping down for dinner.

A brown bear out for a walk. Barbara said that she saw the bear in the woods one morning about 200 yards from the boat and also heard a cougar growl at Ruby as they were out walking one day. She says she 'high tailed' it back to the boat.

Jim and Barbara in front of Marieke Falls.

More pictures from Barb (added July 26)
Lacy Falls.

Sunset at Pierre.

Jim and a friend discussing items of national interest, no doubt in front of the public room at the dock. This looks cold - looks like snow and ice, but I have it on good authority that it's not - just sand.

A peaceful anchorage on Moore Bay.

Annie and another American Tug 34, Christmas Rose, at Greenway.

Looks like Jim had some successful 'prawn hunting' - and Ruby is investigating the catch.

This is an 'art' picture Barbara took which she calls 'Spirit Deer Swimming. It was taken as a reflection and turned on it's side to create the image. She says she got the idea from a book called "From Here to There and In Between". Interesting and beautiful image.

A picture of Jennis Bay taken from the dock.

Loggers sheds - ones says Cook House and the other says Bunk House. Don't know about you - but if it's as cold as it looks, I think I wouldn't mind bunking in the cook house!

Kayaking on Huaskin Lake.

Annie anchored in Cypress Harbour.

Barb got these great pictures of a humpback whale breaching.

She also got this great close-up picture of a bald eagle.
